Climent Molins

Climent Molins Borrell

Climent Molins Borrell is Civil Engineer and Associate Professor at Universitat Politécnica de Catalunya (UPC-BarcelonaTech) since 2004.

His expertise is in static and dynamic structural analysis, including numerical modeling, testing, design and strengthening. His research includes masonry structures, tunnel linings, fiber reinforced concrete and off-shore floating structures. Prior to the full time position at the University in 2004, he had been responsible for more than 100 structural projects as practitioner.

He has coordinated several Spanish research projects and has also acted as local coordinator of a KIC Innoenergy research project. He is inventor of 5 patents. He has supervised 9 PhD thesis in the fields of experimental and numerical analysis of concrete and masonry structures.

He has been involved in technical projects with private companies and public administrations contributing to innovative designs and analysis of interventions for bridges, tunnels, large tanks and structures belonging to the architectural heritage.

He is lecturer in the Erasmus Mundus Advanced Master on Structural Analysis of Historical Constructions (SAHC). As a lecturer, he has been invited to Montevideo (2012), Valparaíso (2011), Madrid (2009).

He was awarded with the David Parkin visiting professorship at the University of Bath, U.K.
