Summary

This article reviews the damage found more or less systematically in the construction of carbon steel structures. The types of damage that occur and their causes are reviewed from a general standpoint, taking into account steel construction in buildings and public works. Classification of this damage and its analysis are made on the basis of the construction process, with particular emphasis on aspects linked to the design stage. We also look at certain regulatory considerations
